Carmel Pradel, DMD


E. Carmel Pradel was born in Haiti, West Indies and immigrated to the Midwest at the age of 13. She attended Howard University, in the district of Columbia. Dr. Pradel completed her pre-doctoral studies at Howard University in three years and received a Phi Beta Kappa award. She received her dental degree from the Harvard school of dental medicine, in Boston. She graduated with honors, cum laude in a special field.

Dr. Pradel then headed west in search of the childhood, familiar environment of sun and sea to complete an oral and maxillofacial surgery program at the u.c.l.a center for health sciences in west los angeles.

Dr. Pradel maintained an adjunct assistant professor position at the u.c.l.a school of dentistry from 1986 to 2005. She is a past president of the Hollywood dental society and the Beverly hills academy of dentistry. She was the owner and operator of a state of the art oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in west Hollywood, from 1989 to 2015. She is currently a member of a group practice in Beverly Hills.

She enjoys sharing her knowledge with colleagues in the dental and medical specialties. Over the years, she authored 2 chapters in the oral surgery clinics of north America; lectured to u.c.l.a school of dentistry, local hospital groups and local dental societies. She delivered a lecture on ‘management of dental emergencies to the dental school in port-au prince, Haiti in 2013.

She believes strongly in giving back to the community, she volunteers for various free clinics and screening events in the Los Angeles area. She is also a volunteer and recruiter for the J.C. Domond foundation annual medical-dental trip to marbial Haiti. She attended the j. c. Domond foundation clinic for 4 consecutive years, from 2010 to 2014, and resumed her volunteer activities from 2016-2017.

Dr. pradel’s hobbies include traveling, reading, salsa dancing and bicycling.

She is available for consultation involving the full scope of oral and Maxillofacial surgery. her current areas of concentration are implantology, dento-alveolar surgery and trauma.
